Markon’s Court Trip, Day 2

On Friday, day 2 of our trip, we took a tour of Addis.

We started our day at 9 am by heading straight up to Entoto Mountain. I LOVED it! I was a history/social science major and I LOVE history. Especially the history of my children’s homeland. It was so great learning all about Ethiopia. I was an eager student and irritating the heck out of the other tourists who could care less about details such as the meaning of each symbol of the different Orthodox crosses…

After the tour of the palace, we went to a really neat place where ex-wood collectors (a very difficult job) make scarves. They even taught me how to use a loom, which was so fun!

We rounded out our day shopping in Piazza for some silver jewelry and picking up a pile of Tomoca coffee. And then topped it off by meeting some friends, Tom and Lynda Steuer, for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Addis, Sishu.

Two days until I meet my son!!!
